Why CPM Scheduling

Critical Path Method (CPM) is the most reliable tool to calculate the time and resources required to complete a construction project. Owners and contractors use critical path to create a project baseline to oversee several projects' time performance and the projects' required cash-flow.  In addition, It enables the companies to control all the equipment usage, procurement schedule, and materials deliverables to be available for each project on time (JIT) with the available resources. 

CPM allows the project managers to monitor the project day by day, control the project duration and associated cost, and know what needs to be done and when to avoid overcrowding the project site. CPM will help increasing the project productivity, predicting risk before happening, reducing safety incidents, preventing scheduling issues, and coordinating timely task performance in a project and company level.

Earned Value System

 Earned Value System (EVM) - When you need to track the project actual performance in terms of duration and cost, the EVM will be your most accurate tool you can daily use. The system creates and measures the actual performed work in the job site, forecasts the cost and time needed for project completion, and make a comparison between what was planned for the project vs the actual performance based on real time and cost indications.  Periodical comparison between actual and planned work presents and identifies the project performance status and it can help narrowing down the roots of the problems and creating alternatives and solutions in order to achieve the project goals.The EVM will be a great tool to add to your project report to determine a current project duration and cost situation through performance metrics. Schedule (SPI) and cost (CPI) performance index used to track the ongoing project performance, predict risks for any variance that may deviate  from the project baseline, and measure cost and time variance impact. EVM allows project managers to be proactive and create solutions for expected deviations and fault from the planned work performance and will determine if the project will meet its financial goal and finish date at any stage of your project. 

4D BIM SCHEDULING

4D BIM - Linking the CPM progress schedule to a 3D model creating a 4D modeling  schedule. The 4D schedule model is usually reflects the construction  progress based on the current and planned performance on the job site.  4D Modeling is a great tool to visualize the project performance in all  project stages from initiation to closing.
